 2017 Preview 


       Bob Jones completed the 2016 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 7A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Bob Jones's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hoover by a score of 31-10.

       The Patriots lost as many games as in any season since 2008.

       As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Bob Jones has gone a combined 62-19. Their 76.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class 7A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bob Jones has managed to compile a record of 153-123. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 7A and 135th in the AHSAA. Their last losing season was 2006.

       The Patriots are led by head coach Kevin Rose who is entering his ninth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 73-21 over the past eight seasons at Bob Jones. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times. They have won six region crowns with Coach Rose.

       Coach Rose's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 116-56 (67.4%). His 116 wins rank th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Rose's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of fourteen times and won seven region championships.

       The Bob Jones Patriots will play in Class 7A region four during the 2017 season.

       The Patriots will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region four this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2004 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2017.

       The Patriots open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Central Phenix City on Friday, August 25 at Garrett-Harrison Stadium. Last year the Central Phenix City Red Devils finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 7A region two. The Red Devils lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 7A playoffs to McGill-Toolen by a score of 35-21.

       This will be the second meeting between Bob Jones and Central Phenix City on the football field. The Patriots have a 0-1-0 record against the Red Devils. They last met in with
